Need to know

As the rice terrace is located high in the mountains, it is very important to know the following.

Transport

There is currently tow bus companies that ply the route between Manila and Banaue. That is the Ohayami Bus and Florida Bus.

http://www.ohayamitrans.com/

You can find the bus schedule on Ohayami website. You are advised to buy the tickets early as they sell out fast.

As for Florida Bus, they have no website but the bus usually leave between 1900hrs and 2100hrs. (Florida Bus is currently suspended)

The bus is usually very cold. So it will be good if you can bring a hooded jacket or a blanket with you.

When you are in Ifugao

The weather in Ifugao is usually cooling. The temperature will drop further if it rains.

So please bring enough warm clothing if you are afraid of cold.

Please bring insect repellent too .

Wear comfortable shirt and pants and covered shoes are recommended.

As there are limited transport service between sites, it will be good if you can charter a private transport like jeepney or trike. With a private transport, you will have total flexibility and control of your itinerary.

Of course you can ride on the public transport but some route only has one schedule per day. This may limit your time in one destination or restriction of your itinerary.

Accommodation

Accommodation in the Ifugao region is usually very basic regardless whether they are called hotel, hostel or inn.

Alternatively, you can experience staying in a native hut that is till now still used by the Ifugao people.

Food

We do not have Jollibee, McDonald or Starbucks and we do not need them here too.

We want to maintain the authenticity of the area.

So most of the food served here are all authentic local food.

This is a chance for you to taste the different flavors in the Ifugao region.

Others

Bring a rain coat or poncho in case it rains.

Banaue town power supply is pretty stable but there may not be electricity available in certain villages like Cambulo.
